§ 6-21. Adoption of technical codes.  


Latest version.
  • (a)

    The county hereby adopts by reference the latest editions, together with any revisions or amendments made thereto, of the following nationally recognized codes and the standards referenced in those codes for the regulation of construction within the county as fully as if they were copied herein in their entirety:

    (1)

    The International Building Code;

    (2)

    The International Residential Code;

    (3)

    The International Energy Code;

    (4)

    The International Electrical Code;

    (5)

    The International Plumbing Code;

    (6)

    The International Mechanical Code;

    (7)

    The International Fuel Gas Code;

    (8)

    The International Fire Prevention Code;

    (9)

    The International Existing Building Code;

    (10)

    The International Property Maintenance Code; and

    (11)

    The ICC Electrical Code Administrative Provisions.

    (b)

    The references to these international codes shall include all provisions in chapter one of each of these codes concerning qualification, removal, dismissal, duties, responsibilities of and the administrative procedures for all building officials, deputy building officials, chief inspectors, other inspectors and assistants.

    (c)

    The exemption from the permit requirements given in section R105.2 of the county building code for one-story detached accessory structures of 200 square feet or less is hereby removed. Such structures will require permits for construction and the provisions of the Code and applicable ordinances of the jurisdiction shall apply.
