§ 32-19. Commission created.

(a)

There is hereby created the county planning commission, to be composed of seven residents of the county who shall be appointed by the majority of the county council with one from each of the seven council districts. The terms of the members shall be for four years and until their successors are appointed and qualify. The terms of the members shall coincide with that of the county council district representative. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment for the unexpired portion of the term only. The governing authority creating the commission may remove any member of the board for cause after written notice. Members shall be compensated as appropriated by the county council.

(b)

The planning commission shall also consist of nonvoting, ex officio members to include, but not limited to, the director of public works and the director of planning for the county as well as a representative from the county health department.
