§ 2-365. Created.

(a)

There is hereby created the county transportation committee, to be composed of seven members, who shall be appointed by a majority vote of the county council with one member from each of the seven council districts. Each councilmember shall have the right to place the name of one member of the committee into nomination for a majority vote by the county council. The term of office of each member shall coincide with the term of office of the county councilmember from the district they represent. Any vacancies prior to expiration of their term shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment for the unexpired portion of the member's term. Any member of the committee may be removed at will by a majority vote of the county council.

(b)

The committee reserves the right to seek professional assistance from other persons at such times as it deems appropriate and such other persons shall be considered ex officio members of the committee but shall have no vote.
