§ 2-100. Appointments and recommendations to boards and commissions.

  • (a)

    Duties of clerk to council with respect to vacancies. The clerk to council, or his designee, shall report to the council at a public scheduled meeting concerning all impending vacancies occurring within 90 days from such meeting on county boards and commissions which the council has the legal responsibility to fill.

    (b)

    Appointments and recommendations. At the meeting, at which the election or appointment or recommendation is to be held, the vote shall then be tallied and those nominees receiving a majority of the votes cast shall be appointed or recommended. If no candidate receives a majority, the voting shall continue until there is a selection notwithstanding provisions of this article. Those county ordinances which specify that nominations for an appointment shall be made by individual councilmember ratified by the full council to ensure at least one member on the board or commission from each council district shall remain in effect.
