§ 12-19. General requirements.

(a)

Definitions provided by S.C. Code 1976, § 23-47-10 shall apply as if fully copied herein. In addition, such additional definitions and provisions as may be issued by the division of information resource management (DIRM) of the state budget and control board and properly authorized for implementation as provided under S.C. Code of Public Law, are considered to apply as if fully copied herein.

(b)

The technical and physical requirements provided by S.C. Code 1976, § 23-47-20 shall apply as if fully copied herein for the E911 service, system, facilities and/or equipment.

(c)

The public implementation of emergency services through the E911 system shall not be implemented until formally approved and authorized for such implementation by the DIRM of the state budget and control board, as provided by S.C. Code 1976, § 23-47-30(A).

(d)

The county 911 emergency telephone system shall be the enhanced 911 system type, and shall fully comply with all applicable requirements of S.C. Code 1976, §§ 23-47-60 and 23-47-70.
